As soon as Wolf began to feel that he would
like a decent meal he went and knocked on Grandma´s door… (Roald Dahl)
You better keep the
wolf back from the door, he wanders ever closer every night…
Dahl and his rhymes sure messed up a bit of me
some 20 years ago…I can’t give up on the idea of the wolf, I even made a youtube
playlist of songs related to wolves and called it lycans…the wolf, the moon,
how its outside of me, how its inside of me, der Steppenwolf, a recurring theme that haunts me during the sleepless nights.
Eco explains the wolf as a repetitive
character in fables and fairy tales, it’s our own wild side, the one we fear
but at the same time gives us strength to challenge the unknown. So this is the
story of a wolf, whose songs only I can hear.
A wolf that haunts, that howls, that scares but at the same time brings the force within, the leader of the pack, lover of the night. A wolf that represents an energy outside of myself as it is a reflection of my own mind, that behaves and misbehaves, a duality seeking both light and darkness.
As usual, the Wolf can reside in a state of what the swede word lagom describes as an understanding of the meaning of collective conscience and respect. However, as in the prisoner’s dilemma, when one of the players realizes that it can take advantage of the other it will cease to collaborate. So sometimes, the Wolf is a rebel (in the midnight hour, she cries more, more, more) and wants to dominate the game.
